BreakFree Great Sandy Straits
Beachfront apartments with two pools and easy access to the marina
About this stay
BreakFree Great Sandy Straits provides a comfortable and convenient stay right on the beachfront of Hervey Bay. The spacious apartments, each with a full kitchen and private outdoor space, are perfect for families or longer stays. Days here often start with a swim in one of the two pools – the lagoon pool for relaxed family fun or the lap pool for a more energetic start. The direct beach access means the sand and water are just steps away, and the marina location makes it easy to arrange trips to the reef and islands. Evenings can be spent enjoying a BBQ in the dedicated area or a game of tennis.
- Beachfront location
- Two swimming pools
- Family-friendly apartments

Our take
I would choose BreakFree Great Sandy Straits for the combination of direct beach access, a lagoon pool and a 25-metre lap pool at the Hervey Bay marina. Apartments are spacious with full kitchens and a balcony or patio, and there is a tennis court and a barbecue area. Guests rate it 7.7, lower than some neighbours, so I would see it as a practical family base rather than a polished resort.
- ✓Book an apartment with a balcony for views and extra outdoor space.
- ✓Take advantage of the full kitchen facilities to prepare meals and save on dining out.
- ✓Use the direct beach access for morning strolls or easy dips in the ocean.
Why we love it
