Our take
Sandcastle Apartments is the self-contained beach stay I would choose in Port Macquarie, directly opposite Town Beach. Each apartment has a full kitchen, a private laundry and a balcony or terrace with ocean views, and secure covered parking makes a road trip easy. A 9.0 score from 1,017 guests is excellent. It is an apartment building rather than a hotel with daily service and dining, so those wanting an on-site restaurant should look elsewhere.

- ✓Utilise the fully equipped kitchen and private laundry for a truly self-sufficient stay.
- ✓Take advantage of the secure covered parking, especially if you're on a longer road trip.
