Nightcap at Federal Hotel Mt Gambier
About this stay
Families driving the Limestone Coast with young children are the natural fit here, largely because of the indoor children's playground, which is the rarest facility in Mount Gambier accommodation and the one that saves a wet afternoon. The Federal sits on the town side of the crater, four minutes by car from Blue Lake Reserve and two from the Riddoch Art Gallery, so the volcanic sights and the shopping strip are both within a short run. Rooms are air-conditioned with a flat-screen television, refrigerator and tea and coffee facilities, and towels, linen and ironing facilities are provided. Downstairs there is an a la carte restaurant, a bar, billiards and live sport on the screens, which means dinner does not need a second drive. A picnic area and outdoor furniture sit off to the side, and parking is free. Mt Gambier Airport is fourteen minutes away.
