Our take
Ibis Mackay is a practical airport hotel at Mackay Airport, with a pool, spa and wellness facilities, an on-site restaurant and bar, and a 24-hour front desk. Mackay CBD is within a 10-minute drive, so it works for short stays around a flight or as a base if you have a car. A 7.8 from more than 1,400 reviews is fair. It is about convenience rather than atmosphere, and it is not in the town centre.

- ✓If you have an early flight, the airport location means you can enjoy a relaxed morning without rushing.
